Mazda North American Operations (MNAO) doesn’t know if the winter for automotive industry will end soon, but what Mazda North American Operations knows is that August 2009 is the best month for the organazation for the past 18 months.
August 2009 Mazda sales report is available to public. With the push from the Cash from Clunkers (C.A.R.S.) program, there were 26,542 Mazda cars sold in August 2009. Compared with 23,680 units sold in August 2008, it is a increase of 20.7% of daily selling rate.
Among all Mazda vehicles, the re-designed Mazda 3 leads all Mazda cars in sales with 14,619 cars sold in August 2009, which is a 43.5% increase compared with 10,970 units in August 2008.
The other sedan from Mazda, the Mazda 6, increased 19.8% with 3,349 cars sold in August 2009.
The Mazda 5, the multi-activity vehicle from Mazda, also increase in sales with 56.1% daily selling rate, which leads in all Mazda vehicles in positive percentage change compared with August last year. There were 1,919 more proud Mazda 5 owners last month.
The crossover line, the Mazda CX series, the Mazda CX-7 and the Mazda CX-9, both drop 8.1% and 38.7% respectively compared with the same period in 2008.
