Mazda USA wants to make sure that car shoppers with cash for clunkers cash rebate could afford a Mazda more easily.
According to this article (thank to one of our readers for providing this information), The Japanese car manufacturer announced that additional $500 promotional cash would be given to Mazda buyers who qualify for the Cash for Clunkers program top of all Mazda incentives and Rebates.
Despite the blog post says there is only special financing on the new 2010 Mazda 3, what we heard is that there is a rumor of volume-based dealer cash on the Mazda 3. Since the hidden dealer bonus cash is determined by the total number of the Mazda 3 being sold by dealerships, car shoppers should contact as many Mazda dealers as possible because the more you ask, the higher chance you would find a dealer that is willing to deal.
For the Mazda 6, the midsize sport sedan from Mazda, there is up to $2500 Mazda dealer incentive. For car shoppers who currently own a Mazda vehicle, there is $1000 Mazda owner loyalty cash on top of everything. By adding all possible incentives on top of the cash for clunkers, the total incentive could be up to $7,500 ($2500 dealer cash, $1000 loyalty rebate, $3500 cash for clunkers, $500 additional Mazda cash with cash for clunkers program). Keep in mind that car shoppers could still negotiate selling price. As the 2010 Mazda 6 is going to be in dealerships in a few months, the 2009 Mazda 6 could, and should, be had for around invoice minus all incentives. In other words, for people qualify for all incentives mentioned above, you are targeting $9,000 off MSRP for the 2009 Mazda 6 without much problem.

As the Mazda 3 sales dropped in June 2009, Mazda USA seems have a secret weapon to try to boost the new 2010 Mazda 3 sales.
It is said there is a volume-based incentive to Mazda dealerships when they hit the sales goal on the new Mazda 3. When a Mazda dealer reaches the sales goal, they could get additional dealer cash on Mazda on ALL, which means includes the prior sale, Mazda 3 sold in the period.
The amount of this program is not clear at this point. However, from our experiences, the amount of Mazda dealer incentive could be between $500 to $1,500, depends on the tier the dealership reaches.
This Mazda hidden incentive program could explain why there are many Mazda dealerships would sell this car under car invoice after little negotiation. In oder to get the best price on the 2010 Mazda 3, it is better to ask as many as Mazda dealers as posible since car shoopers like you could potentially hit the jackpot of dealerships that need to reach the quota for the addiitonal bonus, and would sell the car for the lowest price possible. It is a good time to get the 2010 mazda 3 due to this promotion.
Do not forget the special APR program on the 2010 Mazda 3 that is on the Mazda Incentives & Mazda Rebates page.
Please let us know if you have more details on this.
