It is well-known that there is a $1,000 customer Rebate on 2009 Mitsubishi Lancer as you could find it on Mitsubishi Official website special offer easily. There are also Mitsubishi Customer Loyalty rebate for $500 and Military Rebate for another $500, but what we speculate is that there is hidden rebate or incentive given to Mitsubishi dealers on top of everything.

- On a “famous” car site, you could get a new 2009 Mitsubishi Lancer for a little bit less their “invoice price”. Yes, the invoice price on the site is always inflated, but normally, their price is usually calculated based on a formula, which is their inflated invoice price minus all “available” rebates and incentives plus another $200~$500.
- There is $1,500 (amount varies a little bit in different areas) customer rebate on 2009 Toyota Corolla, and $500 dealer cash on 2009 Honda Civic. In order to compete with other Japnese auto makers, Mitsubishi needs give out more to fight for the shrink car market.
- There is a computer-generated offer on a 2009 Mitsubishi Lancer DE for $2270 below dealer invoice. We all know that the “dealer invoice” is inflated for sure, and since there are Mitusibishi Loyalty Rebate and Mitsubishi Military Rebate, the amount of rebates is $2,000. You might be thinking that the $2270 is coming from the total of $2,000 rebate and the $270 is just discount from dealer. However the same offer at end of December 2008 was exactly $1,000 below dealer invoice, which should be the $1,000 customer rebate while there are military rebate and loyalty rebate available, too.

- Mazda Loyalty Rebate: The cash Rebate being given to customer who purchased a Mazda vehicles before. A valid proof of the ownership of the current car is required.
- Mazda Graduate Rebate: This promotion is for car buyer who will graduate from school or has been graduated from school within certain period. Car buyers would get cash back on top of the total amount.
- Mazda Private Launch Rebate: This offer was available when the 2009 Mazda 6 was released. The amount was $1,000 to the 2009 Mazda 6 Buyer and $500 toward other vehicles.
- Mazda Preferred Buyers Rebate: This offer is for Mazda shoppers with a name card sent from Mazda USA. See the link above for detail.
- Mazda Additional Cash Rebate for Cash for Clunkers: This offer is for Mazda shoppers who are qualify for the Cash for Clunkers rebate program (C.A.R.S) and on top of the cash credit from the government program; Mazda USA adds $500 bonus cash on top of it.
- Mazda Lease Owner Loyalty Bonus Cash: This offer is for current Mazda owners who are on the lease contract of a Mazda vehicle. The offer can be combined with all public offers, but not with Mazda Owner Purchase Layalty program.
Mazda Dealer Incentives:
- Mazda Dealer Engagement Cash: This is one of dealer incentives, so car shoppers would not see it listed on purchase invoice. The only thing you would notice is the purchasing price becomes very low.
- Mazda Dealer volume bonus: This dealer cash is given to Mazda dealer when the dealer reaches certain sales goal. The amount sometimes is a fixed, and sometimes it is in tier structure, which means when a dealer reaches the first goal , they would get the amount, but once they reaches the next sales goal, they get more, and the most important is, the additional amount will be given to the car being sold before.
