Honda Incentives & Rebates

Honda mostly gives cash to dealers as dealer incentives instead of passing it to car shoppers as customer rebate. One of the advantage of not giving rebates to customers is that Honda dealers could decide how much money to give out to car shoppers, if any, in order to sell cars. Therefore, the figure is not shown on your sales invoice like most car rebates do. However, since customer rebates are taxable, dealer cash is deducted directly from the selling price for the car, good thing for car shoppers is that no sales tax is applied on dealer incentives, or all money directly passed to car dealers.

Besides the dealer cash given to each car being sold, Honda has volume bonus to car dealer when sales goal is met. Sometimes, it is a tier structure bonus that could have several steps for Honda dealers to keep going up so different Honda dealers could have different amount of incentives. Usually when a Honda car is going to be re-designed, there is usually huge amount of dealer incentives for Honda dealer, which normally results in huge discount for car shoppers.

04 Mar 09 Similiar Rebates for 2009 Mazda Cars, but Better Incentives for 2008 Leftovers

New 2009 Mazda Rebates & Incentives are available, and below is a summary of changes for March 2009.

Mazda seems to be ready for the slow economy as rebates & incentives on model year 2009 is not better than they were in February 2009. Cash rebates on most cars keep the same as last month. However, the 2009 Mazda 6 rebate amount got increased from $1,000 to $1,500 this month. For other cars, promotions are similiar. Mazda loyalty rebate is only available on the 2009 Mazda 6 with amount of $1,000.

On the other hand, for model year 2008, Mazda increased the amount of customer cash on many models. The 2008 Mazda CX-9 now has a huge amount of $5,250 (was $4250 last month) customer cash available. From our calculation, as long as you could find the car, a high-end GT model could be had with more than $12,000 discount easily. Rebate amount on the 2008 Mazda 3, the 2008 mazda 5 and the Mazda MX-5 are all increased by $500.

Besides those above rebates, we are thinking there might be an additional hidden incentive to Mazda dealers with amount of $1,500 on 2009 Mazda CX-9, 2009 Mazda 6, and 2009 Mazda 5. It might be a tier structure bonus given to dealers when they reach certain sales goal like what Mazda had last summer, but no further information is available at this point. we will keep you updated.
