05 Feb 09 Subaru Forester Could be the Most-Wanted Car for Auto Makers

Subaru posted a 8% increase, yes, let’s repeat it, 8% increase in sales in January 2009 compared with the same month last year.

The Impreza, the compact sedan from Subaru, posted a 5% decrease in sales with 2,937 units sold. 910 units of The Tribeca, the mid size SUV from Subaru, were sold last month, a 54% drop compared with last January.

Here is the reason that the Subaru Forester could become the American-most-wanted car for car manufacturers. There were 5,162 unts of Subaru Forester sold last month, which is a 115% of increase compared with last year.

When 30% sales decline is not too bad for auto makers, how about a 115% increase of sales? Economy is bad for almost everyone in the U.S., but certainly not for Subaru Forester.
