04 Jun 09 Mazda Reports Sales May 2009, Mazda 3 Leads in All Sales
Mazda USA announced the sales for May 2009. Most Mazda vehicles drop more than 30% of sales compared with May 2008, which results in total decrease of 40.1% compared with last year. Due to the less business day in May 2009, the daily selling rate is 37.9%.
Total of 16,718 units were sold in May 2009.
The Mazda 3, the compact sedan from Mazda re-designed several months ago, leads all Mazda sales with 7,500 units sold, which is 44.86% of total sales. However, the re-designed Mazda 6 has decrease in sales of 45.4%, which is the second worst behind the Mazda B-Series truck.
Two Mazda cars amazed people are the Mazda RX-8, the compact sport coupe from Mazda, is doing relatively well with only 23.6% decrease in daily selling rate. On the other hand, the Mazda CX-9, the mid-size crossover SUV from Mazda, drops 24.4%.
As most of the Mazda incentives & Mazda rebates are not increased, June 2009 could be another long month for Mazda.

14 May 09 Mazda Sales Report for April 2009 - Down 32.1%
Mazda Sales report for April 2009. Total of 16,139 of Mazda cars were sold in April 2009. Compared with April 2008 with 23,760 units sold, it is a 32.1% drop in sales.
Sales for most Mazda cars drop double-digit percent, as it is not a big news in the auto industry recently anyway. However, there are some observations for this sales report.
- Sales for the Mazda 6, the mid-size sedan from Mazda drops 46.1% in April 2009 and drops 46.4% in sales comparing the first four months in 2008. It order to increase the sales, more Mazda rebates should be expected.
- Despite the decrease of 12.6% of the Mazda 5 in April 2009, the year-to-date sale is only down 4.9%.
- The Mazda Tribute drops 68% year-to-date sales, and drops 57.6% in April 2008. As a compact SUV being released back in year 2000, despite some minor and major changes and tweaks, consumers would want to buy a totally re-designed car. When is the rumored 2011 Mazda CX-5 available?
