Year 2009 just started for 7 days, and it seems 2009 is still a good for car shoppers, at least for car shoppers who are looking for a Honda car.
After losing the sales to Toyota, Honda plans to fire back and increase sales. The best way to do it is to lower the car prices. The 2009 Honda Accord V6 has $1,000 dealer cash, while 2009 Honda Accord 4cyl has $750. The 2008 Honda Accord V6 has $1,500 dealer incentive, while 2008 Honda Accord 4cyl has $750. However, according to our experience, the 08 Accords should have hidden bonus available as 2008 Honda Accord $1500 below invoice has already be available back in September 2008.
The 2009 Honda Civic has $500 dealer cash available to customers. Considering the 09 model just came out for several months, it is a very good deal for potential car buyers.
The 2009 Honda Pilot has $1500 incentive now despite the decrease of production. However, there are probably more hidden incentive since the 2009 Honda Pilot had $2000 customer cash last year then it is gone.
The 2009 Honda CR-V has $500 to support car shoppers in the market, even though it is rumored that the total amount dealer would get is $1,000 last month.

American Honda posted a total of 86,805 cars sold in December 2008, 34.7% lower than the December last year.
The Honda Accord is still the best-selling vehicles for Honda with 22,348 units being sold, which is a 28.5% decrease compared with December 2007. The economy probably helps the re-designed 2009 Honda Fit as it is doing relatively well by only dropping 1.5% in sales with 5,309 units being sold. 17,302 of the Honda Civic were sold last month, which is 36.4% decline compared with December 2007.
With the decrease of production of 2009 Honda Pilot and 2009 Honda Odyssey taking place, The Honda Pilot SUV and the Honda Odyssey minivan are down 35.3% and 53.4%, with 6,735 and 6,950 units sold. The Honda Element, the compact boxy wagon were down 53.5% with 1,336 units sold, compared with 2,875 units last year. The Japan-made Honda CR-V is doing well with only 13,933 units sold, which is a 25.3% decline. Mabe the rumored $1,000 dealer incentive helps CR-V a little bit.
